A SET BACK BUT STILL FIGHTING

Hi,

I had a setback last Wednesday. The tests showed that the Chemo was not working and that the Cancer has spread to my stomach the other lung and in my spine. I am going first for an opinion from a top onchologist at Mt. Sinai and than another here at Orange Reginal. So know, that for now, I am NOT giving up. I do need the prayers of many and the good wishes you are all sending my way. Know that Life is a series of moments and each moment has birth and death in it.

Thank you for reading my blog and I do hope to continue to give you the best info I can.

Please all of you - send an email to Ellen and LaZy Boy for the chairs we need at the Cancer Center @ orange reginal Horton Hospital.

Thanks again.

Hi My Dear Cousin Frosephine,

I finally found your blogcite...ha,ha,ha..a senior moment. I was so happy to hear that your cancer is nowhere in your bones or lymph nodes. What a blessing. And your new chemo is going to help keep this disease dormant and your new pills for pain are going to help you tremendously. The Blessed Mother is right beside you every moment while fighting this cancer. She told me so. Speak to you soon. God Bless. Love FRALPH

I found your blog through the npr/mycancer site. My mother has stage iv b pancreatic cancer also. She's 63. While I hate the idea of someone else going through what she's going through, I can't wait to tell her I've found a blog about someone sharing her experience. Thank you for writing! Please take care, my prayers are with you & your family.

Jo,
I saw your post on Leroy Sievers blog. I wanted to send you my best wishes and tell you that my Dad had pancreatic Cancer. He was given 3 months to live and told that there was nothing that could be done. I had him come up north and he had a radical whipple done, followed by a year of 5FU and radiation. 6 years later he was still doing fine and living well no evidence of pancreatic cancer. They didn't know what to do with him!
Sadly, he did succumb two years ago to a lung cancer that came on swiflty and did not respond to the chemo. It was not related to his pancreatic cancer-. Please seek second opinions, go to Sloane-Kettering if you can. Fight if you have it in you - for the best-state of the art -cancer treatments.
Sending Thoughts and prayers for you and your family!

Saw your link on Leroy Sievers' blog. Hang in there. Pancreatic cancer is a tough one, but don't be afraid to take charge of your own care, seek second opinions, etc.

Sorry to read about your prescription plan bailing out on you. Our health care system is SERIOUSLY BROKEN!!! Many of us are waiting for some elected officials with the courage to do the right thing and stand up to the for-profit medical industries, demanding systemic changes.

Grace and peace to you.

Josepheenie,

Well look what I found when I was on the NPR website! Just another example of how unknowingly we stumble across things and they turn out in our favor. I never did mind stumbling myself, and if I was ever to meet a person who has made a beautiful life through the stumbles, I have met her and enjoyed her soup. I do miss your soup more than a lot.I'm listening to Bob Dylan and one of the lines sings, "I'm leavin' tomorrow, but I could leave today, somewhere down the road someday.." And it reminded me of you. I hope that Mt. Sinai is helping any way they can and that your feeling fabulous. I'm sending positive chi always and I hope to see you in a few weeks when I'm home. Love you, Joe's Sarah :)
